Trade and installation

Structural steel, rigging, carpentry, plumbing, fabrication all under one roof, all on every job.

Trade & Installation

Having the trades on your own team changes the way a project runs.

When a builder co-ordinates trades from outside, there are gaps: in accountability, in scheduling, in who owns a problem when something isn’t right. MRN’s core trades are on the team, the riggers, the carpenters, the plumbers, employed by MRN and directly accountable to the project. Where a build requires specialist work beyond our in-house capability, we bring in trusted external trades and manage them to the same standard. You still deal with one team throughout.

Our trades

Every trade you need already on the team

Structural Steel

Structural steel is at the heart of what MRN builds commercial warehouses, industrial factories, agricultural machinery sheds, and large-scale structures across Southern NSW and North East Victoria. Our structural steel team handles fabrication, erection, and connection under MRN’s builder licence and with direct site accountability.

What our structural steel team delivers
  • Structural steel supply — sourced, scheduled, and delivered to site
  • Steel frame erection — columns, rafters, purlins, and girts
  • Bolted and welded connections — to structural engineering specification
  • Crane provisions and rail — integrated into the frame for overhead crane systems
  • Mezzanine structures — engineered floor levels within the building envelope

Rigging

MRN Sheds was founded on rigging and structural steel work it’s the trade Mitch built the business from, and the experience that still shapes how every project is run. Our rigging team manages crane lifts, steel erection at height, and heavy equipment placement on commercial, industrial, and agricultural sites across the region.

What our rigging team delivers
  • Crane lifts — co-ordinated lift plans for structural steel, equipment, and materials
  • Structural steel erection — including work at height on large commercial and industrial structures
  • Heavy equipment placement — for industrial machinery, generators, and plant
  • Tight-site access — experienced with constrained sites and complex access requirements

Carpentry

MRN’s carpentry team handles the structural timber and fit-out work that supports and completes a construction project formwork for concrete pours, structural framing for mixed-material builds, and internal fit-out for commercial and residential structures. Having carpentry in-house means we don’t need to sequence around an external carpenter’s availability.

What our carpentry team delivers
  • Formwork — for concrete footings, slabs, and structural pours
  • Structural timber framing — for mixed steel and timber construction
  • Internal fit-out — linings, doors, frames, and joinery for commercial and shed builds

Plumbing

MRN holds a Roof Plumbing Licence which means roof plumbing work is delivered under our own licence rather than outsourced to a separate trade. Site plumbing, drainage, and roof plumbing are all managed in-house on commercial, industrial, and shed builds. You don’t co-ordinate a plumber separately we handle it as part of the project.

What our plumbing team delivers
  • Roof plumbing — gutters, downpipes, box gutters, flashings, and overflows
  • Site drainage — stormwater drainage systems for commercial and industrial sites
  • Services rough-in — plumbing rough-in for amenity areas and office fit-outs
  • Rainwater systems — tanks, first-flush diverters, and agricultural water capture

Fabrication

MRN’s Fabrication capability allows us to create custom structural steel components on site or in our workshop covering non-standard connection details, bespoke structural elements, and modifications to existing steel structures. This is particularly valuable on complex industrial projects where standard components don’t meet the structural engineering specification.

What our boilermaking team delivers
  • Custom steel fabrication — non-standard connections, brackets, and structural details
  • Structural modification — alterations and additions to existing steel structures
  • Bespoke components — fabricated to structural engineering drawings and specifications
  • On-site welding — structural welding for connections and repairs

MRN Rigging and construction recently designed and built my new dream shed in East Albury. Jordan and the MRN team shared their experience and knowledge and ideas to help me come up with the ideal shed and features to suit my business. The shed is my workshop and perfect storage solution and suits my block and surrounds perfectly. Jordan and Mitch have the best trades people on their team and their chosen subcontractors were all excellent, skilled, punctual and great workers.
I can highly recommend MRN, they made the whole process of design and building and construction streamlined and stress free. I have also worked in one of their large shed constructions and these guys are amazing at what they do and can do.
From a workshop shed like mine to a huge industrial complex MRN have the proven skills and knowledge to build what they promise. A great shed!
Thank you Jordan, Mitch and the MRN team! you guys rock!

After looking at some photos from MRN my shed is a baby at 18×9×3.2, but what a fantastic job Mitch and the team did. Communication was foremost from the office and Mitch gave updates along the way.
Very professional, precise work and my shed will be there for a long time. 6 months later and the power has finally been connected and the boys dropped in after a hard days work to calibrate the roller doors as part of the service. Highly recommend MRN for your shed adventure.

Questions about MRN’s in-house trades

Need more information? Get in touch with us.

It means MRN’s structural steel workers, riggers, carpenters, plumbers, and boilermakers are on the MRN payroll not sourced from labour hire when needed. They show up consistently, they’re accountable to MRN, and they know our standards. For complex or specialist work beyond our core team, we engage trusted external trades and hold them to the same standard.

No electrical work requires a specific licence that MRN doesn’t hold. For electrical work on construction projects, we engage trusted licensed electricians from our network and manage them as part of the build. You don’t source or co-ordinate the electrician we do.

MRN holds a NSW/VIC Builder Licence (Lic. No 451486C) and a Roof Plumbing Licence. The Builder Licence covers the full structural and construction scope. The Roof Plumbing Licence covers gutters, downpipes, box gutters, flashings, and drainage all delivered under our own licence, not outsourced.

Yes MRN’s boilermaking capability covers custom steel fabrication for non-standard connection details, bespoke structural components, and modifications to existing steel structures. This is done on site or in our workshop depending on the scope.

Because our core trades are all on the same team, sequencing is managed internally. Steel goes up before roofing, slab before fit-out, plumbing rough-in before linings. We don’t wait on another company’s schedule to progress the job which is one of the practical advantages of in-house trades over co-ordinating multiple external contractors.

We engage trusted external trades from our network vetted, insured, and managed by MRN to the same standards we apply to our own team. You still deal with one team and one point of accountability. We just bring in the right trade for the specific scope.
